"My name is Ibrahim... and this is what life under bombardment means."
Hello,
My name is Ibrahem. I'm 42 years old, and I live in Gaza. I'm not writing these words from a quiet office or a cozy home, but from a small corner of a school my family was forced to take refuge in after our house was completely destroyed in a nighttime bombing.
Since the beginning of the war, we've lost sleep or the meaning of safety. Everything has changed... We no longer think about the future; all we want is to live another day.
We used to live a simple life. I worked in a small shop and supported my mother and siblings. But in an instant, we lost everything: the shop, the house, even the neighbors we used to laugh with were buried under the rubble. All that's left for us is hope... and pain.
Today, I search for bread for my mother but can't find it. Clean water is as scarce as life itself, and the medicine my injured sister needs is no longer available. We can only wait... or reach out for help.
That's why I'm writing to you. Not only to tell my tragedy, but to say that your donation, no matter how small, could mean the difference between life and death. It could provide a warm meal, a blanket in the cold of night, or medicine that could save a dying soul.
You are our remaining hope. From our hearts heavy with fear, we ask your compassionate hearts to stand with us.
From Gaza... from under the bombardment, we send you our prayers and gratitude, for we know that goodness knows no bounds.
With love and hope,
Ibrahim - From Gaza
