SV DSA Wildfire Season Preparedness

In 2020, we spent $24,000 on masks, including 10,000 KN95 masks to distribute to community members, with distribution support from local mutual aid groups such as South Bay Mutual Aid. This year, we’re fundraising to prepare for wildfire season and continue building on community support efforts.
Funds received will be used to purchase materials necessary to respond to the fire season. This will likely include N95 masks and air filters to be distributed to community members that are most vulnerable to smoke (e.g. unhoused, children, outdoor workers, etc) with the support of our mutual aid network. Undistributed N95 masks will be held for the next fire season or distributed to medical workers for virus protection!
