Thanks for taking the time to visit my gofundme page.

We will be taking part in an accessible climb over the top of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and doing the edge experience which involves climbing up to 46.8m to the top followed by a freefall abseil 42m to the ground of the stadium.

We will be doing this in their own wheelchair, which for me is even scarier as I will have no control of the chair. Gary will be doing the climb by foot.

W would be so grateful for your support of our goal at Light Church Hull. This is to open a local pantry in the west of Hull in HU3 to tackle food poverty and build community.

A local pantry saves an average family over £1000 a year and gives dignity of choice and access to good healthy food.

We all believe that everyone needs good food and so we aim to support vulnerable families, many of whom face the difficult choice between heating and eating in this current climate.

A local pantry and will give us the means to support many families in need.

In this area, we find some of the highest levels of poverty in the UK with and Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) score of 40.2. Hessle Road, Boulevard and Woodcock Street areas of HU3 have high levels of long-term unemployment, poor housing and addiction.

Having worked in these areas for the last 2 years through Parent and Tots groups, and other community activities we have seen firsthand the struggles families are facing.

The cost-of-living crisis has pushed many families to the edge. Food banks offer a one-off short-term emergency reprieve from crisis.

A local pantry however we believe is a more supportive way of tackling food poverty giving people the dignity of choice of food with support in its provision. A £5 weekly membership fee gives a family access to £30.00 worth of shopping plus free fruit and vegetables to help deliver more healthy options.

In addition, the weekly visit to a Local Pantry builds community connection and is an opportunity for families to access other areas of support through additional planned activities such as the Life skills course, Recovery Course and Money Course as examples.

Your Local Pantry, Our pantry would be part of the successful Your local Pantry network helping us run efficiently and monitor and evaluate our impact.
