Suze: Doxxed but Determined

Hi! I’m Suze, former proud resident of Washington DC. You may know me from my insatiable appetite for travel on instagram, or from getting doxxed on national platforms for saying I’m morally opposed to serving elected officials who have been convicted of sex trafficking. Either way, welcome to my story.

In 2024, I was living the American Dream by working enough to generate three streams of income; I had a full time job in Federal Consulting, while also working part time for Beuchert's Saloon as a server, a manager and their social media content creator.

On December 11th, Washingtonian Magazine published an article that quoted me as saying I had a moral opposition to serving elected officials convicted of sex trafficking. I clarified my position on this as being one regardless of political affiliation. IE: sex trafficking is bad. Not an incredibly crazy stance to have, right?

As a direct result of saying this, the ownership team at Beuchert’s Saloon (who had historically outwardly held progressive values) immediately fired me and inaccurately posted about my personnel history. It set off a frenzy of right-wing media articles being published about me. Ultimately, the massive amounts of media attention led to my termination from my consulting job as well.

During this time, I was doxxed; I received hundreds of messages of harassment, some threatening violence, by hordes of MAGA men and women on multiple social media platforms; I had threatening physical mail delivered to my home address. It caused extensive psychological trauma.

All totaled, the effects of Beuchert’s ownership's horrific response will cost me over six figures in income in 2025 alone. With pages and pages of Google search results featuring insanely inaccurate headlines, multiple immediate rejections from jobs I've applied to, and no future ahead of me in DC - I made the incredibly difficult decision to literally move and restart my life in another country.

At the end of the day, the most painful aspect of this situation is losing and leaving the community I built through Beuchert's and almost 8 years of living in DC.

I had a very rich social life and real connections with so many people because of my time at Beuchert's and through other various industries in DC. I loved working hard to serve my Capitol Hill community. You’ll find evidence of that in the past year of content I created for them on their social media (given they haven’t deleted it). Anyone who knew me from Beuchert’s would say I really and truly gave a damn about fighting for its survival in a city where independent restaurants are shuttering, daily.

Right now, I’m focused on rebuilding my life abroad, while simultaneously working with an amazing legal team in DC to rectify my reputation. This fund will primarily assist in those efforts. If all you want to do is buy me a croissant and a coffee, you can do that here too!

Thanks for taking the time out of your day to hear my story!
