Suzanne Duncan Memorial Trophy 2026

Donation protected
We are delighted to announce that the Suzanne Duncan Memorial Trophy is returning in 2026, raising funds for Strongmen UK and Men Together Durham.

This is a very special day in our calendar. Suzanne’s husband, Steve Duncan, and his sons plan to make this game day an annual event in memory of Steve’s late wife, Suzanne.

Here at Men Together Durham, we are honoured that Steve and his family have chosen to support our cause. Our mission is to bring men together, help them find community, build camaraderie, grow friendships, and improve both their physical and mental health.

Suzanne played a key role in the development of the Durham Learning Alliance, a partnership between Durham University and four County Durham colleges to expand educational opportunities for young people across our region.

With more than 20 years of experience in the further education sector, Suzanne led East Durham College through three highly successful Ofsted inspections.

She also oversaw transformational multi-million-pound investments in the college’s infrastructure, including the £13 million Houghall Campus, where students now have access to state-of-the-art agriculture facilities.

In recognition of her significant achievements, Durham University was due to honour Suzanne with an honorary degree at Winter Congregation in January 2025.

We would love as many people as possible to take part in this fantastic day. We encourage you to come along and show your support for the Duncan family, Strongmen UK, Men Together Durham, and of course Suzanne herself.

Thank you,

Phil Clark
