Hello I'm Becky...

Im trying to volunteer in Costa Rica for 4 weeks in 2027!

I am raising money to fund my costa rica trip for 2027 with camp international. This incredible opportunity in an irresistible experience, and allows me to volunteer making a sustainable and ethical impact to those in costa rica as i do so.

All the money we pay support me for when I am out there while simultaneously going towards employed local trades people and camp staff, sourcing local materials to support businesses in the lical area.

If im lucky enough to go there in the summer of 2027, I will be working along side friends and new people to build learning spaces and paint buildings or laying foundations down. I want to give others great opportunities and have an impact on other people.

It wasn't a shock when I said I wanted to go. I was hooked on the idea from the first assembly with me and my friends thinking of bringing cameras and taking cute photos together. But over a few weeks I've learnt a lot about this trip, it wont just be a final laugh with my friends before we go off to university and get jobs but also a trip with real impact and a real meaning behind it.

I've been in Cadet for almost 3 years and if its taught me anything apart from teamwork and leadership, its taught me that you should never watch an opportunity slip away. Through CCF I've made many friends with complete strangers and I've learnt to expand my social circle and challenge myself by meeting new people creating core memories of laughter and fun. I also participated in DofE where i found my limits and pushed passed them to achieve a goal. Its only a challenge if you believe you cant do

I want to feel like I have made a change to the world that will last a lifetime and still be impactful in centuries to come.

I have to raise just over £5500 and one thing I've had to figure out quite quickly is that it wont just turn up under my pillow from the tooth fairy. I'm still learning even before the trip about raising awairness and finance. I'm devoted to raising it by myself working hard to prove how much I want this, not just for myself but others too.
