TW- DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ETC
"I will never forget how cold the shotgun barrel felt against my forehead. It was my first day in the apartment I shared with my abusive boyfriend. He was holding a double-barreled shot-gun to my head and saying if I moved out, he would kill everyone I cared about. I looked him in the eye and said, "You may as well pull the trigger now." He spit on me, kicked me and said, "Oh no, you don't get off that easy. I've only just begun to play with you." And the game was on." In The Pits of Hell, the author takes you into the world of domestic violence and reveals the mind games these abusers play. She uncovers the strategies abusers use to gain power and control over their victims. Her story gives you vital information that can save your life or the life of someone you love. The index in the back directs you to real-life examples of the abuser's pattern of behavior, making it easier to identify and avoid a potential abuser."
This is just one exerpt from her book she wrote to help others be free of what she suffered. Susie has an opportunity to turn her book into a film which would reach more people and help more people. However to get the film made she needs to invest some money that she does not have right now. On top of the stress of trying to get this together so that she can fulfill her dreams of helping others and opening a shelter for women that could be world altering to those who need it, her garage tragically burned down and she needs even more support.
My name is Ginger and I am raising money for our dear friend who is like family. Our beloved Susie needs our help. Obviously the fire has been a huge blow and I would have wanted to do this, regardless.
Susie is like family to many of us and our children and gives so much to us, and her community as a whole.
She has dedicated herself to her faith and her connection to the higher powers that support her healing life journey, one to help others who have endured thier own pain and help to support others as they embark on thier own unique healing journeys
Susie has been through alot, so much more than I may even be privy to, and she has never been handed anything, yet she always gives to others when able.
The book she wrote I wish no one ever had to write but by being vulnerable her hope is to help other victims of domestic abuse save themselves or to feel less alone at the very least. She has a chance to share her story through more than words, in the form of a film now.
Please help her so that she can fulfill her dream of helping other people.
I asked her about her goal and she had this to say "The whole reason for the book and film is to show the pattern of behavior all abusers use, and to get the funds to open a shelter for survivors. God gets all the glory for this project. He has protected and guided me through everything. After the screenplay is done it goes into production research, then they cast and start filming"
Lets make this a reality as it has been a dream of her for years.
Honestly, the fire is is only one of many stressful and upsetting things Susie has had to deal with since I have known her and yet Ive never seen her stop being kind or stop showing up. Susie is a rare gem and it is very important to me that I help her as she has helped me. She deserves this. That being said Ive never started a go fund me for anything before and have 0 clue what Im doing, but I've also never wanted to help someone out more. Thanks for reading this far.
If you can't donate, it would help a ton to just share the link. Thank you alll!
