surviving loss

My  family never had it easy. Dad worked 6 days a week full time to support us and was successful at maintaining and keeping up with the bills, he exemplified the working man who took care of his family.  However, saving prove to be a challenge. He has recently passed away a week and a half ago and our life has lost stability. Although he worked very hard he did not have any life insurance.  

The only thing my mom and dad ever asked of me is to do well in school. Before his untimely demise, he assisted in all matters pertaining to me entering college. The ability for my now widowed mother to meet our short-term necessities (until she is able to find a job) is proving to be an extremely difficult task; Rent, utilities, medical bills and general overall household expenses are immediate upon us, not to mention books, and supplies for my brother and I.  

What I'm asking for is your help in acquiring the funds for my family to make it through this difficult time. I know all too well that everyone has it hard. Any assistance will be met with the greatest of gratitude. I know that those who have lost someone can understand how I feel. I'm nervous, uncomfortable, and scared.
