Hi, my name is Jessica. I’m a mom of two young children, and I’m writing this as a survivor of domestic violence, doing everything I can to give my kids the life they deserve.
This fundraiser is to help me get a safe, reliable car so I can continue doing everything I need to keep moving forward.
Earlier this year, I made the hardest — and bravest — decision of my life: I left an abusive, violent relationship after he physically assaulted me. I’m alive, and I’m healing. I found the strength to protect my children and break the cycle.
Now, we’re in a transitional shelter program where I’ve been focused on building a whole new beginning. I’ve been sober for 3 months, working hard in therapy, and recently enrolled in college — something I never thought I’d have the chance to do.
But right now, we’re stuck. My car broke down, and without reliable transportation, it’s nearly impossible to get to job interviews, school, childcare, or even the grocery store. I’m a single mom doing this completely on my own, and this is one of those moments where I need my village more than ever.
I’m incredibly grateful for the housing and support I’ve received, and I’ve learned that asking for help doesn’t make me weak — it’s part of how I’ve survived. This is me reaching out, being vulnerable, and admitting that I can’t carry this all alone.
Your support — whether through a donation or simply sharing — could be the key to helping me finally move forward. Even a few dollars adds up. Every bit helps us get one step closer to stability, independence, and peace.
Thank you for reading, thank you for believing in survivors, and thank you for being part of our healing journey.
With love & deep gratitude,
Jessica, DJ, & Rowan
