SURVIVAL FOOD FOR THE HUNGRY IN CHISWE VILLAGE, MALAWI - AFRICA
A drought contributed to a failed crop in Chiswe village in March. As a result people are really hungry with not enough food, some are dying.
$1.30 a week donation for 6 weeks is helping to keep each family alive and healthy . Parents and 5 kids. Perth people are very generous and we are helping 297 families. Without the donations most were eating 1 meal every 2 days. Now with a weekly gift , they are eating 1 meal every day. They need energy as they are helping themselves get self -sufficient by growing vegetables [ for food and sales ] and a dry season maize crop , starting to grow right now. But until the first vegetables are harvested they need more food to give them energy, and avoid hunger pains, and health problems.
Hello . My name is Beryl and I'm raising funds for many families in a southern village south of Malawi. Climate change has resulted in a flood, and then drought affecting the maize crops. My friend Nisha and other families in her church dont have enough food. I've worked out a plan with her and the group. So that they can survive now without outside help. After this 6 weeks, I think they'll be able to do that ! But they need food for the next 6 weeks until they get the first harvest of these crops.

This is a hungry man from Chiswe, now getting 1 meal a day due to the ration we are sending.

A DIRE SITUATION
Chiswe's people grow maize as their annual staple crop as do about 85% of the people in Malawi . After the crops were unsuccessful due to drought in March 2024, the Government declared a State of emergency, asking for ongoing help from international donors.
The elderly and babies are the most vulnerable. Most people feel weak.
- THE GOAL $ 400 donations per week during the next 6 week campaign.
EACH FAMILY WILL VEGETABLES , for example :
1 CABBAGE, 5 EGGPLANTS, 150 G BEANS or 5 POTATOES . This gives them HUGE JOY and RELIEF and they feel so loved !! It helps them SURVIVE a HARD PATCH. It will make a huge difference.
<<< THE PEOPLE WILL GET VEGETABLES LIKE THIS WEEKLY.
<<THIS FOOD is what a family eats right now!
Once every 2 days!
NOT ENOUGH! All family members eat a bit of porridge ( the white mixture) and get a cup of tea. And each person will also likely get 1 potato or sweet potato ( 2nd bowl ). And on the 2nd day its often just tea. Its far too little for up to 7 people. Weak and hungry. Hunger pains. Hard to think at school, hard to work.
- A facebook or email SHARE to family and friends of this Go Fund Me page will mean a lot to me. It gets the word out, a domino effect. Thanks! Link: https://gofund.me/bd4fc173
We can trust my faithful Christian friend, Nisha Kalirani and her church committee to be faithful and accountable on their end. Nisha has worked with me over the last 2 yrs. Nisha cashes the money sent, along with 2 others for accountablity. She helps to buy food and coordinates the transport and distribution. With Gods grace the group have got through the last 2 years.
Receipts, photos and other paperwork are sent to me. I get letters of thankfulness which I’ll share in coming weeks.

A recent thankyou letter from a father.
By you sending a gift, God sees that. Nothing goes unnoticed, One by one, families will be surviving better. And we may even avert death from those who are really , really starving.
I am giving weekly updates.
So grateful for your generosity! Thanks heaps.
