Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story and surrogacy journey. We are so close to starting our new family. Our excitement is at a max, but our worries are too.
We are in a very vulnerable and deeply sensitive position. Despite preparing for this time in our lives, knowing that it would be both a long emotional and financial journey, never did we expect to need such much-wanted support from our community.
We are seeking your help in raising $25,000 (cad) to start our family, and begin our surrogacy journey. Lauren, who was diagnosed with cervical cancer when she was just 28 years old, cant wait to be a mother, nor can I wait to be a dad. But our story put our plans on hold. The cancer was an aggressive one, growing rapidly. But thankfully it was caught early and recovery was possible. It was not an easy journey though, and after undergoing a radical hysterectomy, Lauren was left without a uterus, and unable to bear children.
Knowing we would one day want to start a family of our own, we began saving and preparing, as it would not be the typical journey that most expecting parents experience when trying to get pregnant. We have been ready and are so excited to start a family of our own, despite the obstacles we know we would encounter. But as with everyone over the past year, especially with small business owners such as Lauren, who is a wedding photographer, it has been such a struggle to just stay afloat. We stayed strong and positive in the belief that our wish would come true to start our own family in the very near future.
This year did bring some light to us though, and our wishes are starting to come true. We received news that we have been matched with an amazing surrogate. We could not be happier. Everything is happening so fast, and that brings us here, to this moment. We need help to raise the last amount of funds so our journey and the crucial stage of IVF can begin.
We are not ones to ask for help, and like to believe we are very independent. But, we know that without this fund, our journey to start our new family might not be possible.
