My neighbor/friend is battling ALS. His name is Mitch Shaver and he’s 49 years. He’s mostly confined to a wheelchair at this point and struggles to be able  to every day things that the rest of us take for granted. If you know anything about ALS, it’s a horrific disease. You become a prisoner in your own body and the end result is death . BUT this isn’t about our friend Mitch. This is about his wife, Rhonda. Rhonda is Mitch’s soulmate, life partner and caregiver. She’s an inspiration. She’s a Mother of two and one of the most giving and kind individuals you’ll ever meet. She works as an occupational therapist for young children in need. Her strength and positivity is inspiring. I purchased my peloton 1 year ago. I’ve heard Rhonda  make numerous comments about how much she would LOVE a peloton. She would NEVER get one for herself because every ounce of energy, time and money is dedicated to caring for her husband. Rhonda is someone who works out and takes care of herself physically and always has. The Peloton, speaking from experience, is a way to escape for a little bit. It helps with anxiety, depression, energy. The list goes on and on. ALL of these things and more she’d be able to combat in her own home while being able to stay with her Husband who needs her. I have this vision of the big beautiful Peloton truck pulling up in front of Rhonda and Mitch’s home and her being shocked and unaware that she’s about to get a gift she never thought she’d have. A gift for HERSELF. A gift to one of the most selfless people I know. We’re all so worried about Mitch  and of course we should be!!! However, we sometimes forget about the Wife and Mother of two  having to stay strong ever.single.day. This would be such an incredible outlet for her.  If any human deserved a gift like this it would be her. If you could find it in your heart to help make this a reality for Rhonda, I’d be so grateful. She has some incredibly difficult  days ahead.
