My name is Helen Blount, and I am 94 years old. I am sharing this because I want people to know about the woman who helps take care of me and why she means so much.
She is my caregiver, and she is a remarkable woman. She is a single mother of four boys. Years ago, while she was in the hospital giving birth, her husband was tragically killed in an automobile accident. He never had the chance to see his children. From that moment on, she has raised all four boys on her own.
She has done a good job raising them. She set limits, taught them responsibility, and made sure they did their chores. She worked hard to provide for them and guide them, even when life was not easy. I admire her strength and her dedication as a mother.
Every day, she also takes care of me. She helps me get to my doctor appointments, go to the grocery store, and pick up my medicine from the pharmacy. She is patient, dependable, and kind. She never makes me feel like I am asking too much, and I am very thankful for her.
Recently, her car stopped working. Without a reliable vehicle, it has become difficult for her to care for me and to manage her responsibilities as a mother. She truly needs dependable transportation to continue doing all that she does for others.
My hope is to surprise her with a safe, reliable used car—something new to her—that will make her life easier and give her one less thing to worry about. She has given so much of herself to others, and I would love to see her receive some help in return.
Any help, no matter how small, would mean a great deal. If you are unable to donate, sharing this would also be appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your kindness.
With sincere gratitude,
Helen Blount
