Volunteer Int. Surgical Outreach
Donation protected
In August 2017 a group of surgical volunteers from Delaware traveled to rural La Dalia, Nicaragua to provide operative care to the local population. The team, consisting of 2 surgeons, an anesthesiologist, and 4 volunteers was able to successfully complete over 50 vital surgeries in one week. All of the doctors and volunteers donated their time and the cost of their trip.
The trip would not be possible without the efforts of charitable organiztions who are able to provide local support and organization in country. All fundraising efforts will go towards defraying the cost of in country transportation, pre and post operative care, translators, processing of government documents, and other vital services.
Our next trip is scheduled for March, 2018 and will include general and gynecologic surgery. Every dollar will help the team continue to provide much needed surgical care to an underserved area where such services are in great demand.
