Surf Rescue Stations for Conjola Beach
Donation protected
On behalf of the Conjola Community Association, I would like to try and raise funds from the community to install a Rescue Station at the end of the Boardwalk on Lake Conjola Beach.
We have applied for grant funding from Council for this, however we were unsuccessful.
A completed & installed Surf Rescue Station costs $3,750 and we would also like to raise money to install a Defib at Hoylake Park in Conjola Park that was kindly gifted to the community from Treading Lightly.
Any money raised in excess - will be applied towards a second Surf Rescue Station at Buckleys Beach lookout.
All money raised will be transferred directly into the Conjola Community Association Bank account and will be accounted for.
As everyone is aware, Lake Conjola Beach is an unpatrolled & dangerous beach and if we can save even 1 life it will be worth it.
These rescue stations do not only help the person in trouble in the water but also helps the innocent bystander who without training would want to go in and help. According to Surf Life Saving NSW, there has been 11 bystander drownings on the NSW coastline since July 2022.
A bystander drowning occurs when a person dies after having initially entered the water in an attempt to rescue another person in distress.
Any amount will help, so please contribute whatever you can.
