Supporting Y Bont – A Lifeline for Joel and So Many Others.

This year, I have the honour of supporting a cause that is incredibly close to my heart – Y Bont, a specialist nursery that provides care and education for children with complex medical needs and disabilities.

My son Joel is two years old. Although he has not yet received a formal diagnosis, he faces significant challenges. One of the most serious is that he is unable to swallow safely, meaning he receives all of his nutrition through a feeding tube. As a parent, this journey has been filled with uncertainty, worry, and countless medical appointments.

But amidst all of this, we were given a lifeline – a place at Y Bont.

Y Bont is more than just a nursery. It’s a community, a support system, and a safe space for children like Joel to learn, grow, and thrive. The team there has welcomed Joel with open arms, and their care and dedication have been nothing short of extraordinary.

Y Bont is a charity, and much of its funding comes from donations and fundraising efforts. Sadly, recent news of funding cuts has placed the future of this vital service in jeopardy. Without immediate support, Y Bont faces the real threat of closure.

That’s why my amazing work team – Jordanna’s Team – is stepping up to help. On June 13th, we’ll be climbing Pen y Fan, the highest peak in South Wales, to raise funds and awareness for Y Bont.

This is more than just a climb. It’s our way of giving back to a charity that has given so much to our family – and standing up for all the families who depend on Y Bont’s support.

The money we raise could help ensure that Y Bont remains open, continuing to provide life-changing care for children like Joel. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us closer to making that a reality
