On Sunday August 31, a 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck eastern Afghanistan. Taking the lives of more than 1,600 people, and injuring thousands more.
Entire villages have been reduced to rubble, and thousands have been displaced with little more than the clothes on their backs. In a country ridden by poverty and limited access to healthcare, the earthquake has exacerbated existing challenges and placed the affected population in urgent need of relief. Women, children, the elderly, and the sick are among the most severely affected, now left without shelter, food, or medical care.
To provide rapid life-saving health care to earthquake-affected populations in Kunar Province through:
1. Mobile Health Team (MHT) emergency response for injured and vulnerable victims.
This is a time for us to come together as a community and stand with our brothers and sisters in Afghanistan. Every act of generosity, no matter how small, makes a difference in the lives of those suffering.
