Hi everyone,

​I’m reaching out to share a project that is very close to my heart. For over 25 years, I have worked as a professional home economist, dedicated to the art and science of food. This March, I am taking that lifelong expertise on a journey to support a truly remarkable place: Valentina’s Little Heaven.

​Located in Colva, South Goa, this registered orphanage is a sanctuary for 57 children (aged 3–18) who have been rescued from child labour, the sex industry, and extreme poverty.

​While the Indian Government recognises the orphanage, funding is critically limited. They currently live a "hand-to-mouth" existence, struggling to meet the most basic costs of feeding and clothing the children. Despite these hardships, these children are in school and receiving the counselling they need to heal and believe in a better future.

​During my visit, I’ll be immersing myself in the children’s daily routines. Most importantly, I’ll be running hands-on cookery sessions. My goal is to use the skills I have honed over my two-and-a-half-decade career to teach these children about nutrition and food preparation—helping them build a healthy, self-sufficient foundation for their adult lives.

​My Commitment to You

​Transparency is incredibly important to me. I want you to know:

• ​I am covering 100% of my own costs, including flights & accommodation.

• ​100% of the funds raised will be handed over directly in cash to the orphanage. Because international bank transfers are difficult for them to process, this is the most effective way to ensure the money reaches them immediately.

• ​The orphanage will provide written confirmation of the total amount received, which I will share with all donors upon my return.

​My goal is to raise £1,000 before I depart on 5th March. We can reach this target quickly if:

• ​...or 200 people donate just £5
