Supporting us through Covid-19

Following the Covid-19 outbreak, we are raising money in aid of Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway in order to compensate for lost revenue during this extended period of closure. 

Wholly run by volunteers the railway relies on visitors as its main source of income. While there are no trains the overheads remains the same.

As well as our energy tariffs, due to the size and complexity of our operation and infrastructure we have a large Insurance overhead (circa £1000 per month), this is not optional and must be in place regardless of the running of trains. Also there is the ongoing maintenance activities, these are cyclic and our volunteers will be required to continue to undertake these activities. While their time is cost free, the materials and facilities to carry out these tasks is not. 

The cost of an adult ticket is £10, but even if you can afford a fraction of that we would be very grateful indeed.
