Hi! I’m currently in Tanzania volunteering across medical, construction, and childcare projects. While the staff are incredibly dedicated, resources are extremely limited and the conditions are often unsafe.

Alongside this, I’ve taken on community outreach in my own time, doing home visits to vulnerable men and women, many of whom are unwell, unable to work, and/or at real risk of homelessness.

During home visits, I’ve met women who are unwell, recovering from trauma, or rebuilding their lives after domestic violence. Many are single mothers with no income, unable to work, and at real risk of homelessness. Even rent as low as 20,000 TSH (around £6) can be out of reach. Some urgently need medical care or medication, while others simply need enough food to get through the week.

I started this fundraiser to extend the support that I have been able to offer whilst being here (e.g. buying food, covering rent when I can, and helping with essentials like soap, cooking oil, or other essentials). But the need is far greater than what I can manage alone.

I’ll also be joining medical outreach trips to communities where people can’t afford or access hospital care. Working alongside local nurses and doctors, we assess patients and provide free medication on-site.

The medicine isn’t provided, we fund and bring it ourselves. This includes essentials like antibiotics, inhalers, pain relief, deworming treatments, wound care, and chronic condition medication like losartan, amlodipine, and omeprazole.

Your support helps cover these vital supplies so we can continue reaching people who need care the most.

The children ant the daycare I previously volunteered at are cared for with so much love, but the centre is still running on the bare minimum. They lack basic supplies like chairs, cleaning supplies and a proper bin for safe waste disposal.

All funds will go directly to those in need, and I’m personally keeping track of how every donation is used.
