Supporting the Tatlonghari-Porras Family

Hi my name is Benna Spotts and I am setting up this GoFundMe for my incredible mother, Ethel Tatlonghari-Porras.

My mom is the strongest woman i know. when i was 6 she was diagnosed with guilliam-barre syndrome which eventually led to her being paralyzed from the waist down and in the icu for half a year. she had to relearn how to walk. once she was out of the hospital, she was then diagnosed with stage 4 thyroid cancer. she underwent radiation treatment then surgery. the surgery was unable to remove the cancer and she still has it now, but it is not malignant due to new medications. while she was going through cancer treatments, my mom and i were left alone leaving her to fight by herself with me alongside of her at the age of 7. this past week, she went through her first surgery since her cancer and due to her weakened immune system—what would take a healthy person 4-6 weeks to recover, would take her twice as long to recover. my step dad is working constantly to provide for us while i’m in college as a full time student—things are going to get difficult.

We have received an immense amount of support, I am creating this to share to others in hopes of even more prayers and support.
