A hurricane recently struck Jamaica and has left a trail of devastation across the western parts of the island including Trelawny (a parish some may not have heard of unless attending the martha brae river or glistening waters) However, it is much bigger than these locations— places such as Wakefield, Deeside, and Bounty Hall were badly affected. These are not just names on a map — they are my home, my roots, and where some of my family and friends still live today.

I grew up in Wakefield, surrounded by a strong, loving community that always supported each other. Now, that same community is hurting. Homes have been destroyed, families displaced, and many are still without clean water, food, or shelter. The people who once opened their doors to others now find themselves in desperate need of help. As time goes on its clear that the primary focus will be on towns and cities and those more rural will need to help themselves. However. Alot of businesses were destroyed and access is still a challenge.

I’m reaching out to ask for your support in helping the people of my community rebuild their lives. Every donation — no matter how small — will go toward providing:

Emergency supplies and food relief

Clean water and hygiene essentials

Materials to rebuild homes and repair damaged infrastructure

Support for families who’ve lost everything
