Dear friends, family, and compassionate hearts,
We want to share the story of an extraordinary woman, our mom. She is 72 years old, and lives in Medellín, Colombia. For decades, she devoted her life to others, working as a Spanish teacher, shaping the lives of countless children with patience, wisdom, and laughter.
She has always been a light, someone who loved to dance, laugh loudly, and enjoy life fully. Her joy was contagious. Her strength was quiet, but undeniable.
Fourteen years ago, she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, and since then, she has faced every year with a new challenge, but never without grace. Her condition has gradually taken away her mobility, her voice, and her independence. Today, she is completely dependent on others for every daily activity.
She can no longer speak, but she still communicates through an alphabet board, and her spirit remains beautifully present, vibrant, emotional, and deeply alive.
And just 8 days ago, we received another devastating diagnosis: breast cancer. Her body is tired, but her heart is full of life. Now, more than ever, she needs full-time care, comfort, and dignity.
What we’re asking for:
Your support will help provide:
24/7 in-home medical care
Interdisciplinary therapies (physical, occupational, emotional, and more)
Medical equipment and essential supplies
And the peace and support she deserves in this incredibly delicate stage of life.
We are her daughters, Alejandra and Paula, and we are her voice, her support system. We are doing all we can, but we cannot do this alone.
This fundraiser is not only about medicine, it’s about love, human dignity, and the chance to give her the same devotion and joy she gave so many of us throughout her life.
If her story touches you, if her spirit reminds you of someone you love please consider helping. Every donation, every share, and every kind word lifts her up.
With love and deep gratitude,
Alejandra & Paula
