On March 13, 2024, our family suffered a devastating loss with the tragic murder of Michael Pride Jr. He was a caring and giving soul, Mike was not only a devoted father and cherished, son, brother, and friend but also the founder of ProjectEx, a nonprofit dedicated to serving the homeless in our area. His life was tragically cut short in a senseless act of violence at a local 7/11 store.
Mike was a beacon of hope in our community, brightening the lives of countless individuals through his selflessness. His passion for helping others and his unwavering commitment to making a difference left a mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In addition to his impactful nonprofit work, Mike was a loving father to children who are now left to navigate the world without their father's guiding hand. As they mourn the loss of their beloved dad, they also face the harsh reality of financial uncertainty.

A 7/11 employee senselessly shot and killed Mike, who was unarmed. Mike was shot one time in the head and then 6 more times to his body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
