Supporting The Howlett Family: A Tragic Loss

Myself (Alicia) and my partner Joshua are reaching out to the community on behalf of the Howlett family that we hold dearly to our hearts.

These are the events that took place,

On the early morning of Saturday, February 22nd, a tragic accident took place in the Howlett family home. Steve Howlett, beloved father of Becca, Daniel, and Jamie, and devoted husband to Cathy, fell and suffered life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridgeshire, where surgeons worked quickly to repair multiple fractures to his skull. Despite the seriousness of the injury, Steve survived the surgery but faced a long, uncertain road ahead.

Steve was also in a self-induced coma and had a draining tube inserted to prevent fluid from building up on his brain. While his family remained hopeful as Steve showed small signs of improvement, including occasional eye movement and minor arm movements, the constant return of fluid on his brain made full recovery impossible. Sadly, on Thursday, March 20th, Steve said goodbye to all the family & passed away peacefully with his daughter, Becca, and future daughter-in-law, Jessica, by his side.

Steve had recently been made redundant from his job, and, unfortunately, he did not have life insurance. This has left his family facing significant financial burdens during this already difficult time. Cathy, Steve’s wife, had recently undergone hip surgery, which further restricted her mobility and made it impossible for her to work. This strain on the family has been overwhelming.

We are reaching out to the community to ask for help in giving Steve the send-off he deserves. Any contributions will go directly towards funeral costs, as well as supporting Cathy and the family as they navigate these incredibly challenging times.

Steve was loved by so many, and the outpouring of support from friends, family, and the community has been a testament to the funny yet caring person he was. Your donation, no matter the size, will make a difference and provide much-needed relief to the Howlett family.
