It’s with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the sudden passing of Serene this past weekend. Serene was a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew her—beautiful, smart, funny, and a gifted equestrian. She was gearing up for her senior year in OHSET (Oregon High School Equestrian Teams) and had dreams for a bright future beyond high school.
Serene was the kind of person who cheered for everyone—no matter the team you were on, she was there supporting you. Her kindness and unshakeable positivity left a profound impact on those around her, and it’s clear that she will be deeply missed by everyone fortunate enough to call her a friend, teammate, or loved one.
As her family mourns this unimaginable loss, the upcoming Christmas holiday only compounds the pain. Serene’s love for Christmas and her role as the oldest daughter and best big sister makes her absence even more heartbreaking. For her family, the thought of spending the holidays at home without her is something that no one should have to face.
In light of this, we are raising funds to send the family to a warmer, sunnier place for the holidays—a small step to help them cope and heal during this incredibly difficult time. We hope that this gesture can offer them a moment of peace and solace, away from the heavy weight of grief.
If you’re able, please consider donating to the GoFundMe campaign. Your support, whether financial or emotional, can make a world of difference. If you're unable to donate at this time, please take a moment to share the campaign with others, and most importantly, keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.
Together, we can provide them with some comfort and remind them that they are not alone in this journey.
