Supporting the Day Treatment Unit at the Queen’s Centre

Donation protected
Hi everyone,

After donating all of the toys to Women and Children’s, it really made me stop and reflect. Being able to do that gave me motivation, passion, and a reason to get up each day knowing I was doing something positive for others. Because of that experience, I knew I wanted to do something similar again — I just struggled at first to decide which ward or department to support next.

Today, after a friend tagged me in a post, I finally found the next place.

This time, I’m fundraising to support the Day Treatment Unit at the Queen’s Centre.

As many of you know, this place will always hold a very special place in my heart. I lost my grandad to cancer in January 2022 after he was diagnosed just six months earlier. During that incredibly difficult time, it was this department that supported him through his treatment and helped him live his final months as fully and comfortably as possible.

This donation drive will be a little different from the last one. The unit doesn’t need large items — instead they’ve asked for sweets, confectionery, and small treats. These might seem like simple things, but they can make such a difference for patients who spend long hours there receiving treatment. A small treat or a moment of comfort can really brighten someone’s day.

If doing this can bring even a couple of smiles to people going through such a difficult time, then I know it will all be worth it.

Thank you so much to each and every one of you for your kindness and support.

With love,
Soph
