Supporting Tamara and Alex in Their Battle Against Leukemia

We created this GoFundMe for our daughter Tamara and her boyfriend Alex, who has recently been diagnosed with PH+ Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

For several weeks, Alex hadn’t been feeling well. After a visit to urgent care the day after his 25th birthday, he was sent home with no significant concerns. However, everything changed on Friday, October 4th. They received a call from the doctor urging them to go to the ER immediately. Alex’s white blood cell count was alarmingly high at 49,500, and his red blood cell count was critically low at 1.8. They had no idea how drastically their lives would change.

Upon arriving at the ER, Alex underwent a few more test and was quickly transferred to KU Medical Center, where doctors informed them of the diagnosis. Alex will begin his testament this week and has been advised he will be unable to work for at least a year and will require lots of care throughout his treatment and recovery.

Tamara and Alex just moved into their new home, and are now facing significant medical expenses. Their family has shifted from two incomes to one, and will need some support during this incredibly challenging time.
