He formally admitted to us that due to an internal breakdown, his junior team had failed to communicate with him about Emily's condition for 9 consecutive days. They have now confirmed she cannot be transferred to Addenbrooke's until three separate, major diagnostic scans are completed next week. We are setting up this fund in absolute humility because our family is financially breaking under the weight of an unexpected medical crisis.Our daughter, Emily, is 19 and a dedicated 2nd-year Paediatric Nursing student at Anglia Ruskin University.

Ironically, she is currently a patient in the very hospital where she has been doing her clinical training (Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford).

Six weeks ago, Emily underwent surgery to remove her appendix. Since that day, her health has suffered a catastrophic decline.

Her body is completely rejecting all food and fluids, and she has spent more than a month starved, confined to a hospital bed on Rayne Ward, and entirely dependent on a PICC line for nutrition.

She is physically exhausted, losing weight rapidly, and facing severe post-surgical complications that have left her terrified for her life.

Following an intense battle for advocacy, the hospital has finally agreed that Emily requires a specialist transfer to Addenbrooke's Hospital for expert care.

However, before she can safely be moved, she must undergo an intense schedule of surgeries and sedated diagnostic scans over the coming weeks.

As her parents, we have refused to leave Emily’s bedside. We are acting as her 24/7 medical advocates and her vital emotional support. However, spending every single day at the hospital for six weeks has completely drained our family finances.
