Supporting Schools,Women & Communities in Tanzania

Hello everyone, my name is Michele and I am currently volunteering in Tanzania at a school for children. 

I am so privileged to be able to come to such a beautiful place and provide children with further education as well as supporting their teachers. I have wanted to do this for a long time and at 51, I am beyond thrilled to be able to make it a reality. 

However, things aren’t as marvellous for some of the locals of Arusha (where I am currently living in Tanzania) and this is why I have started this GoFundMe. 

Here in Tanzania there are so many people facing different issues, some can’t afford to pay rent, send their kids to school or eat. Others are unable to care for themselves or their families due to illnesses or accidents that have gone on untreated. Mothers with a handful of kids who their husband left them, and even grandparents who are still working at 85+. Gratefully, I have been fortunate enough to have been welcomed into their homes and to have heard some of their heartbreaking stories. 

Last week I did home visits, a program that allows us to provide struggling families with food and other essentials; but, it ended up going far beyond that. I was able to help a woman pay her rent which she hasn’t been able to afford for months, and at the low cost of £9.44 (30,000TS) a month. We also purchased a wheelchair for someone who needs it desperately, it broke my heart to learn that so many people are confined to their bed because of this lack of access to aid. 

With your support, whether donating or sharing I will be able to do more of this in the future. 

Whether providing families with food, sponsoring children to go to school, supporting women in their community or providing aid to families effected by loss, illness or welfare.
