Our family is heartbroken as we share the sudden and devastating loss of Matthew Bernal, who passed away on January 31, 2026 at just 24 years old as the result of a motorcycle accident.

Matthew was a loving husband, a devoted father, and a hardworking provider for his family. His passing was completely unexpected, and the impact has been overwhelming for all of us who loved him.

He leaves behind his wife, Sadie, their one-and-a-half-year-old son, Joel, and a baby due in March, Warren. At a time when she should be preparing to welcome a new life, Sadie is now grieving the loss of her husband while facing the reality of raising two young children on her own.

Matthew was the sole provider for his family. With his sudden passing, Sadie is facing immediate financial challenges, including mortgage payments, household bills, funeral expenses, and the loss of income and benefits. In addition, because this loss was so sudden, she does not yet have the basic necessities needed to safely bring Warren home.

This GoFundMe was created by our family to help support Sadie and her children during this incredibly difficult time. Donations will go directly toward:

    •    Essential living expenses, helping keep a roof over their heads

    •    Funeral and memorial costs to honor Matthew

    •    Immediate newborn necessities for Warren, including a safe sleeping space, car seat, diapers, feeding supplies, and clothing
