Quinn and I met on social media, and over time, we’ve become incredibly close friends. Every time I visit her, I’m reminded of how she makes everyone feel like family—her warmth and kindness are truly special. She’s the kind of person who shows up for others, loves deeply, and gives endlessly without ever expecting anything in return.

Last week, Quinn received the devastating news that she has kidney cancer. The diagnosis came after a series of medical appointments and tests, and now she faces urgent surgery to remove a tumor from her kidney. The situation is complicated by her previous surgeries, and there’s a chance she may lose her entire kidney. After surgery, she’ll need to stay in the hospital and may require further treatment like chemotherapy or radiation, depending on the biopsy results. As a server, Quinn doesn’t have short- or long-term disability, so being out of work for at least 4-6 weeks—possibly longer—means she won’t be able to pay her bills or cover basic living expenses.
