On the 11th of November, Paddy's world turned upside down when he became critically unwell after developing sepsis, A blood clot formed in his liver, and within hours, he was fighting for his life in the ICU at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney. After six harrowing days in intensive care, Paddy survived, but his battle is far from over. He remains hospitalised with another operation scheduled for next week, and the road to recovery stretches uncertainly ahead.

Anyone who knows Paddy will tell you he’s one of the kindest, warmest, and most genuine people you could ever meet. He’s the type of person who would do anything for anyone, and despite everything he has faced, he still remains positive and a true inspiration to so many.

Paddy hasn’t had an easy health journey—after suffering from health issues for years, he received a liver transplant in 2020 and has battled complications ever since. Only weeks before this ICU admission, he had undergone several operations to widen his biliary strictures, an ongoing complication from his transplant.

The uncertainty surrounding Paddy's recovery has become incredibly difficult for everyone who loves him. With no clear timeline for when he'll be well enough to fly home or return to work, his family desperately wants to be by his side during this critical time. However, the costs of travel and accommodation are adding another devastating layer of financial pressure to an already overwhelming situation. Medical bills continue to mount, ongoing treatment costs remain unknown, and the financial burden is becoming unbearable during what should be a time focused solely on recovery.
