Hi everyone. Currently there are an upwards of 20,000 positive cases of COVID-19 in Suffolk County, Long Island. As you all know our healthcare workers are working tirelessly for our community and safety. The amount of pressure they deal with on a daily basis is overwhelming and tiresome.
As a community, we would like to come together and support our frontline healthcare workers and small local businesses. Our updated goals consist of providing meals from small local businesses to:
1) 150 meals provided to Stony Brook University Hospital, NY
2) 90 meals provided to Long Island Community Hospital, NY
3) 200 sets of PPE for Mather Hospital, NY
Stony Brook University Hospital: Date of delivery April 29, 2020
- 150 meals will be prepared by Shah's Halal Food located in Selden, NY.
- Meals consist of: 75 vegetarian platters over rice & 75 chicken platters over rice.
- All platters will be individually packed and covered to ensure safety.
- Drinks will include water bottles and gatorades (as requested by the Hospital).
Long Island Community Hospital: Date of delivery April 21, 2020
- 90 meals for day and night staff
- All platters will be individually packed and covered to ensure safety.
- Drinks will include water bottles and gatorades (as requested by the Hospital).
Mather Hospital: Date: Pending on funds raised reach goal - Target date: April 20, 2020
- 200 sets of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for staff members keeping them safe on the frontlines.
