I made this fundraiser in hope that we can come together as a community to support a dear friend in this community who is currently facing a serious and ongoing health challenge.

Over the past six months, he has been battling pneumonia, and this is now the third time it has returned. Each time, it has taken more out of him. His energy is very low, his body is weak, and he is struggling to recover without the proper medical support.

Right now, he is unable to work and has no steady income to cover the care he urgently needs as well as buying food and essentials.

He needs to undergo medical tests, including X-rays (approximately $2,000 pesos for the X-rays), as well as further examinations to understand why this keeps coming back and to receive the correct treatment. At this stage, we don’t yet know the full cost of care, but we know it will go beyond what he can manage alone.

Pneumonia is a serious lung infection that, if not properly treated, can become increasingly severe and lead to long-term complications or even worse, especially when it keeps returning. Getting the right diagnosis and treatment now is essential for his recovery.

He is a valued member of our community here in Mazunte. He has given so much of himself over the years.. offering support, presence, and service to those around him. Now, he needs us.

He currently stays at Bliss Haven, where he has been contributing in exchange for accommodation, doing what little he can currently while his energy is so limited.

As many of us here know, living in this kind of community often means we are far from family. In moments like this, we rely only on each other.

We are setting an initial goal of $10,000 pesos to help cover immediate medical costs, starting with essential tests. Any additional funds will go toward ongoing treatment and recovery.

Inicié esta campaña de recaudación de fondos con la esperanza de que, como comunidad, podamos unirnos para apoyar a un querido amigo que actualmente enfrenta un grave problema de salud.

Durante los últimos seis meses, ha estado luchando contra la neumonía, y esta es la tercera vez que reaparece. Cada vez, la enfermedad lo debilita más. Tiene muy poca energía, su cuerpo está débil y le cuesta recuperarse sin la atención médica adecuada.

En este momento, no puede trabajar y no tiene ingresos estables para cubrir la atención que necesita con urgencia así como comprar alimentos y artículos de primera necesidad.

Necesita someterse a pruebas médicas, incluyendo radiografías (con un costo aproximado de $2,000 pesos), así como a exámenes adicionales para comprender por qué la enfermedad reaparece y recibir el tratamiento correcto. Aún no sabemos el costo total de la atención, pero sabemos que superará sus posibilidades económicas.

La neumonía es una infección pulmonar grave que, si no se trata adecuadamente, puede agravarse y provocar complicaciones a largo plazo o incluso consecuencias peores, especialmente cuando reaparece. Recibir el diagnóstico y tratamiento adecuados ahora es fundamental para su recuperación.

Es un miembro muy querido de nuestra comunidad aquí en Mazunte. A lo largo de los años, se ha entregado por completo, ofreciendo apoyo, compañía y servicio a quienes lo rodean. Ahora, nos necesita.
