Everyone’s friend Edd, Eddie, Edward Cartwright, had a dreadful ischemic stroke on Wednesday 23rd October 2019, his family were told to ‘expect the worst’ it was a horrific 24 hours.  The stroke was caused by blockages in arteries within the brain, in Edd’s case he had three blood clots.  The doctors don’t know exactly what caused his stroke or the full prognosis at this stage except that he will have many months of rehabilitation and recovery to come.  Edd is currently in St George's Hospital Tooting but the family are hoping they will be able to transfer him to East Surrey in the near future.

Edd has been married to Max for 27 years and has four lovely children who are the focus of his daily life.  Edd is the main breadwinner of the house and is self-employed and although he had all the necessary injury at work type insurances this sadly doesn’t cover illnesses of this nature, this medical tragedy will affect his ability to work, drive, and perform everyday tasks in the short-term and we are looking for your support.  Edd would always do anything for anyone and has done a lot in the past for those less fortunate.

Everyone is asking what they can do to help so we have started this GoFundMe Campaign with Max’s blessing to assist with general financial support (housing, bills, groceries, etc. etc.) along with any additional rehabilitation needs for at least the next few months as he recovers. We are hopeful that this campaign will alleviate some of the financial burden so Edd and the family can recovery with minimal stress.
