Our family is going through a really challenging time right now.

Our dad recently underwent a double lung transplant, a life-saving but incredibly complex operation. Since then, his recovery has been anything but straightforward. There have been ups and downs, and the road ahead is still long and uncertain.

Right now, our mum is by his side in Cambridge, supporting him through every moment of this journey. But it does mean she’s had to step away from work and spend extended time away from home and her children.

While everything is focused on Dad’s recovery, real life hasn’t paused. There are ongoing costs, accommodation near the hospital, daily food, travel, and household bills continuing at home, all at a time when Mum isn’t able to earn.

We’re setting this up to ease that pressure.

This isn’t about asking for anything extravagant, it’s about giving our mum the ability to stay where she’s needed most, without the added weight of financial worry. So she can focus fully on supporting Dad through his recovery.
