Nurses are there for people during some of the most difficult and emotional moments in life. They work long hours, care for others while exhausted, and handle so much stress both physically and mentally. Even with everything they do, their hard work is often overlooked.
 For my senior project, I chose to focus on the mental and physical impact nursing can have. Researching this topic has shown me how demanding the profession truly is and how important it is to support the people who care for our communities every day. Since I plan to pursue a career in nursing myself, this project is especially meaningful to me.
 As the community service portion of my project, I am raising money to put together appreciation gift baskets for nurses in our community. These baskets will include snacks, selfcare items, and other small gifts to show gratitude and remind them that their efforts do not go unnoticed.
