Supporting Our Black Lives Matter Youth Camp
Black Lives Matter Paterson is going to launch it's first ever Black Lives Matter summer camp.
But instead of adults determining what the youth will do, instead the BLM Youth Council that will be organizing what it looks like. From the daily activities to the books read, the camp will be designed for the youth, by the youth!
Our Mission:
The Black Lives Matter summer program is a free, literacy-based learning experience that integrates conflict resolution and social action in programs that promote social, cultural, and historical awareness.
Overview:
This summer (2021) the first class of the BLM Summer Camp will be piloted in Paterson. The camp will operate from July 6 – July 30, Monday – Friday, 8am-3pm. The youth will have the opportunity to build leadership and community organizing skills to become community change-makers. Location to be determined.
The BLM Summer Camp activities are focused on exposing our youth leaders to as many new experiences as possible. As we challenge them to want to make a difference in themselves, their family, their community, and their world, we have to equip them with more tools and present them with more experiences to expand their world view.
Help us make this first year not the last!
$1,500 sponsors a camper, while also providing young adults summer employment. Donations of any level will help reach our goal of ensuring that every eligible child is able to attend the BLM Summer Camp this summer.
