Rowntree CIC was created with one simple goal — to make a real difference within local communities.
Based across Nottinghamshire and the Highlands of Scotland, we are a community interest company dedicated to improving lives through equine-assisted therapy, grassroots sport, and community development initiatives.
In England, Rowntree Equine Therapy CIC is working towards building a fully accessible, state-of-the-art Equine Therapy Centre designed to support children and adults living with physical and mental disabilities. Through the unique connection between people and horses, we aim to improve confidence, emotional wellbeing, physical strength, and social inclusion.
Our vision is to create a safe and welcoming environment where individuals of all abilities can access life-changing equine therapy programmes, wellbeing activities, education, and rehabilitation support across Nottinghamshire and the wider East Midlands.
Alongside this, our Scottish Division — based in Wick, Caithness — focuses on supporting grassroots sport and youth development across the Highlands. We work with local schools, sports clubs, and community organisations to help remove barriers to participation, support young people, and provide opportunities that strengthen confidence, teamwork, health, and life skills in rural communities.
Everything we do is driven by community support, fundraising, partnerships, and the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive.
By supporting Rowntree CIC, you are helping us create stronger, healthier, and more inclusive communities across both England and Scotland — building opportunities, changing lives, and creating lasting impact for future generations.
Every donation made to Rowntree CIC will directly support the development of our community projects across Nottinghamshire and the Highlands.
Funds raised will help us:
• Build and develop a fully accessible Equine Therapy Centre for disabled children and adults
• Create safe indoor and outdoor therapy spaces and specialist facilities
• Provide accessible equipment, therapy resources, and horse care
• Support equine-assisted wellbeing and rehabilitation programmes
• Help individuals improve confidence, independence, emotional wellbeing, and physical health
• Remove barriers to participation for people living with disabilities or mental health challenges
• Support grassroots youth sport and community development programmes across the Highlands

• Continue outreach, fundraising, and partnership work that strengthens local communities
Our long-term vision is to create inclusive spaces where people of all ages and abilities can access support, opportunities, wellbeing programmes, and positive community experiences.
Every contribution — no matter the size — helps us move one step closer to creating lasting impact and changing lives through therapy, sport, and community support.
