Hello friends and family. I realize not everyone is hearing about the devastation in North Carolina. The mountains were hit hard and were not prepared because, of course, a hurricane typically does not have that kind of effect in the NC mountains! An already saturated area was hit with a tremendous amount of rain. Because FEMA has been giving so much to the border issues, it has no money right now. These areas are getting very little help. Most of the help is from “civilians.” People who have access to helicopters are flying in to drop supplies and rescue people because many of the roads are gone with limited ways to get to the people who really need it. John and I are going to spend several days trying to get as north as we can. We have some business contacts from John’s company who are in need and we’re going to try to get them what we can. Help them clean up and do what we can. Their immediate need is generators (about $600 each), gas, and extension cords. Thank you to everyone for any help you can give and we covet your prayers that God provides and sends us to the place we can help the most and that he covers all those affected by this hurricane.
