Dear Friends, Family, and Beloved Community,

It is with heavy hearts that we share the unimaginable loss Nicholas (10) and Madilynn (8) have faced this year. Their parents loved them more than anything but Nicholas and Madilynn grew up witnessing their parents’ battle with substance abuse disorder. On August 31st, their mother tragically passed away after sustaining severe injuries in a car accident that occurred on June 28th, one that Nicholas and Madi were apart of themselves and witnessed. Then, just two months later on October 23rd, their father was found deceased in his bed, with the cause of his passing still unknown. The trauma these two young children have endured is almost unimaginable.

Nicholas and Madilynn are now navigating a future without a mom’s warm hugs and a dad’s strong guidance. Though surrounded by the love and support of extended family, the road ahead is long, and they will need more than emotional support. From medical care like braces to ongoing counseling to help heal from their profound grief, to educational needs and the everyday costs of growing up, they face numerous challenges over the next decade.

We are reaching out to ask for help in providing Nicholas and Madilynn with the stability they so desperately need during this uncertain time.
