Supporting my Volunteer Trip to Ghana

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Zara and I'm fundraising a trip to Ghana to volunteer with Ankoma Outreach. I've never had an experience like this before and I care about understanding global issues beyond just the classroom. I’ve been given the opportunity to spend a week volunteering in Ghana, where I’ll be helping out with local community projects, including supporting schools and other initiatives. These projects rely on extra help and funding to keep running, and even short-term volunteers can make a useful contribution.

I’m raising money to cover the costs of the trip so I can take part and get involved directly. Any support would make a difference and help me be part of something practical and worthwhile.

Like many countries, Ghana has made progress in areas like education and development but there are still challenges, especially in some rural and lower-income communities. Access to quality education can be limited due to overcrowded classrooms and a lack of resources such as books and equipment. In some areas, people also face difficulties with access to clean water, healthcare, and stable infrastructure. Economic inequality means that while some parts of the country are developing quickly, others are still struggling to keep up. Local organisations work hard to support these communities, but they often rely on extra help and funding to continue their work, which is where volunteers and fundraising can play a small but useful role.
