Hi my name is Andy and i am fundraising for on behalf of my sister, Eksi, an Indonesian mum of two beautiful young daughters, Maria (10) and Moana (5).

I have just reconnected with my sister for the first time in nine years. I travelled to visit her home in Helvetia, Medan, North Sumatra, Indonesia, and what I saw broke my heart.

Their home is extremely basic. The girls live, sleep, and eat in conditions surrounded by rubbish and waste—circumstances that no child should have to grow up in. Despite this, they never complain. They are kind, gentle, and resilient beyond their years.

Eksi is doing everything she can as a mother, but life has been incredibly tough. The reality is that she simply doesn’t have the means to improve their living conditions on her own. I have helped where i can but i struggle to support myself and them in addition to th support i already provided my mum.

This fundraiser is not about luxury or big dreams. It’s about basic dignity—helping provide simple essentials to make life a little easier initially to allow her to get on the front foot to a slightly better life and a safer living environment, basic household items, and small improvements that can make daily life healthier and more comfortable for these two little girls.

Please note that although this GoFundMe page is listed as being raised in Australia, this is only due to GoFundMe not allowing Indonesia to be selected as a location. All funds raised will be used solely to support Eksi and her children in Indonesia.
