Supporting My Parents After My Step Dad's Cancer Diagnosis

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Harriett, and I'm hoping to raise some money for my parents during this very difficult time.

My stepdad, Phil Butler, was recently diagnosed with stage 4 inoperable and untreatable cancer and unfortunately we do not know how much time we have left with him. As you can imagine, this news has been devastating for our family. Phil has always been the rock of the household for my mum, and now he’s no longer able to work which has had a big impact on their finances.

My mum, Liz Butler, is trying to balance everything—taking care of Phil, managing household responsibilities, and maintaining their day-to-day lives, learning to cook as the kitchen was Phil's domain. But with this diagnosis, her priority is to be with Phil as much as possible. She wants to spend every precious moment with him, but unfortunately, she can’t do that without financial support to help cover their bills while she takes much needed time off work.

I’m asking for your kindness and generosity to help my mum and Phil during this incredibly challenging time. Your donations will go directly to help cover their bills, living expenses, and any other urgent needs they have so Phil can be as comfortable as possible and that my mum can focus on being by Phil’s side without the added stress of financial worries.

Any amount, no matter how small, will make a difference and mean the world to us. Our family is truly grateful for all the support, love, and well wishes we’ve already received—and we are hopeful that with your help, my mum can take time off work to be with Phil during the time that matters most.

I know Phil has had a huge impact on so many people lives from his family and friends, colleagues and I'm sure hundreds of customers he's delivered to in his 40+ years as a truck driver, so please feel free to share this with anyone you think might want to support him.

Thank you for considering this, and for being there for us as we navigate these difficult days. Your generosity will give my mum and Phil the gift of time, which is all they need right now.

Please feel free to leave a message for Phil and I will pass it on to him.

With heartfelt thanks,
Harriett Harpham (Southorn)
