My name is Michaela Brooks, and I’m writing this for my mum, Angie, who has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
After bravely battling lung cancer in 2023, Mum faced yet another devastating diagnosis. This illness is aggressive, and there is no cure. Our family is now focused on making sure she is comfortable, supported, and surrounded by love for the time she has left.
Mum is a devoted mother and grandmother, and the heartbeat of our family. Illness has taken away much of her independence, yet she has always put others first. She has cared for her grandson Riley, guided him, and helped raise him from the day he was born. He is her heartbeat, her greatest joy, and the light that has carried her through even the hardest days. Their bond is incredibly special.
As her daughter, all I want is to protect her and make this journey as peaceful and dignified as possible — not only for Mum, but for my dad, for Riley, and for my brother Vinny, who love her deeply and are walking this road with her.
Asking for help is not something Mum would ever choose to do, but the reality is that serious illness brings emotional and financial pressures that are impossible to ignore. This fundraiser has been created to help ease that burden, so we can focus on time together rather than worry.
The funds raised will help with:
Everyday living costs as my mum’s illness has taken away her independence
Comfort and care needs to support her quality of life
Travel and family support costs
Reducing financial stress during this time
This is not about asking for more than we need. It’s about preserving Mum’s dignity, supporting our family, and allowing her to be surrounded by love and peace.
If you are able to donate, no matter how small, we are deeply grateful. If not, sharing this page or keeping Mum in your thoughts means just as much.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for showing kindness and compassion to my mum and our family.
With heartfelt thanks,
Michaela Brooks
