Hi, my name is Anisha and i am a second year student nurse at UOB. This August i have been given the incredible opportunity to travel to Tanzania for four weeks as part of my nursing elective placement. During this time, i will be volunteering in a local hospital, supporting healthcare staff and helping care for those who are less fortunate. It’s truly a once in a life time experience that will allow me to grow both professionally and personally.

During this placement, i hope to gain a deeper understanding of how healthcare is delivered in a completely different environment compared to the UK. Experiencing first-hand the challenges, resource limitations, and different approaches to patient care will allow me to broaden my perspective and develop a more well-rounded understanding of global healthcare systems.

I am working hard to self-fund this journey, including taking part in a Sutton fun run this May where I will be raising money for UHB charity and any additional funds raised through this GoFundMe will go towards essential costs such as flights, accommodation, and most importantly medical supplies that I will be bringing with me to donate to the hospital.

These may include first aid kits, gloves, dressings, antiseptics, basic medical equipment, hygiene products, thermometers, blood pressure monitors, and other essential resources that can make a real difference in patient care.
