EMERGENCY RESCUE!!! POPPET THE KITTEN SET ON FIRE!

We were contacted by our local shelter today (where we got Maggie from she is the one that was found in a homeless encampment with both her legs cut off) another baby came from the CHP when someone dropped off this little 4-5 week old kitten with burns all over her body. Apparently someone in a homeless encampment chose to set this innocent baby on fire.

Before you ask, no, no one was arrested, they have no idea who did it (just like Maggie) but some kind person saw her and took her the California Highway Patrol office by them. Thank you to the kind CHP officers who rushed her to the shelter!!

We immediately jumped up to take this baby into our care. She is with us now in an oxygen incubator as she was having some issues breathing. She is COVERED with singed fur and burns, especially on her face and paws. We have named her Poppet Pennywhistle. She is with our President Michele who is watching her carefully over the night and first thing tomorrow she is going to our incredible veterinarian for further evaluation.

She has a long journed ahead of her recovring not only from the burns all over her body but the trauma no kitten or anyone should EVER endure. We will keep you updated on her progress and after her vet visit tomorrow.
