On September 6th, our dear friend Michelle Trotman experienced the sudden and unexpected loss of her beloved daughter, Elaisha, who was just in her thirties. Elaisha was deeply loved by her family and friends across Ontario and Alberta, and she leaves behind her cherished children — Peyton Skye, Braeland, and Grayson — who she adored beyond the stars.

Michelle and Elaisha shared a home and a close, supportive relationship. They were intertwined in daily life, including contributing together to the household. With Elaisha’s sudden passing, Michelle is now not only grieving the loss of her daughter, but also facing the financial strain of carrying the household alone.

Michelle is a hardworking and humble person, with a long history of steady employment in a profession that focused on helping and serving her community. After briefly relying on Employment Insurance, she had only just begun her dream job two weeks before this tragedy. Because of how new that position is, she does not yet qualify for Employment Insurance again, leaving her in an especially vulnerable position at the very moment she needs time and space to grieve.

With the funeral expenses already addressed, this fundraiser will focus on helping Michelle directly with her living costs during this time of grief.

Michelle and Elaisha created many joyful memories together, from family gatherings to events like Caribana, where their bond and love for life shone through. Those who knew them could always see the laughter and closeness they shared.

Michelle is not someone who would ever ask lightly, and this GoFundMe is being organized by family on her behalf so that she can focus on mourning and healing. Any contribution, no matter the size, will help ease her burden and show Michelle that she is surrounded by love and support.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and compassion during this difficult time.
