Our sweet Niece Lauren Grace Waun of Dearborn, MI, has been battling something no mother ever wants to go through. Her sweet Baby Knox has been on a Ventilator since birth. He was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder. X-linked myotubular myopathy (XLMTM). This disorder is a severe genetic neuromuscular disorder primarily affecting male infants (1 in 50,000) due to MTM1 gene mutations. It causes profound, life-threatening muscle weakness (hypotonia) at birth, often leading to respiratory failure requiring 24-hour ventilator support and feeding tubes.
Knox Brown 2 1/2 years old has gone home to be with Our Heavenly Father. Lauren bravely allowed Knox to GIVE THE GIFT OF LIFE to others in need. Organs received were kidneys & liver. As there was not a need/match for his heart. Knox Brown took his final walk from his room at Mott Children Hospital Ann Arbor, MI. Our Brave Little Knox crossed over to the GIFT OF LIFE Unit Saturday, January 31st 2026.
Dealing with the death of a young child is a devastating, life-altering experience with no set timeline for recovery. Grief comes in waves, requiring immense patience and self-compassion while navigating intense emotions. Grief is physically exhausting and she will need all the support she can get during this trying time. Lauren also has a 4-year-old son Onyx, that she will need to continue to nurture during this difficult time. Anything helps to support them. All donations will go directly to Lauren and Onyx. If you cannot donate a share and a prayer is all we ask for.
Please keep Lauren and Onyx in your thoughts and prayers as they steer through this difficult chapter in their lives.
